Skin + Health Test

How does the Skin + Health Test work?

Our Skin + Health Test measures key biofactors including hormones and pH that affect your skin’s outer appearance and are essential indicators of overall health and balance. 

Testing is simple– all we need is a little bit of saliva. The Skin + Health Test includes everything you need, including a shipping envelope and prepaid label for easy sending. Learn more about it here.

What does the Skin + Health Test kit include?

The kit includes everything you need to collect your sample and send it back to us, including a collection tube, pre-paid shipping label and return envelope. You’ll receive comprehensive test results reviewed by certified physicians, and Veracity personalized product and lifestyle recommendations. Learn more here.

Can I purchase a Skin + Health Test kit now?

Our kit is currently available in limited quantities. You can sign up to reserve your test kit here, and we’ll e-mail you a link to purchase as soon as you’re off the waitlist.

Do I need a referral?

No referral necessary! We are not a healthcare provider, and work independently with trusted lab partners and medical experts.

Is my Skin + Health Test covered by insurance?

Since we are not a healthcare provider we do not accept insurance.

How do I use my Skin + Health Discovery Test kit?

collect your saliva first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything besides water. If you need to start over, just rinse the vial out with hot water (no soap), air dry, and repeat the steps below.


  • Rinse your mouth with water prior to the collection.

  • Swish the saliva around in your mouth and start spitting into the vial.


  • Spit until the tube is filled to the line marked ‘5.’ Make sure it isn’t all bubbles.

  • No worries if it seems like it’s taking a while—it may take up to 30 minutes to gather enough saliva.


  • Screw the vial cap on tightly.

  • Mark your name, date, and time on the label provided on the tube.


  • Place the tube in the clear resealable bag and store it in the freezer until you’re ready to ship. Use the prepaid shipping label and return mailer included in your kit to send it back.

Do I need to complete my Skin + Health Profile?

Yes! Our network of physicians requires this information to approve and analyze your test results. Your answers to the additional questions help us to examine your qualitative attributes along with your test results to give you the best possible recommendations. How do I return my completed test kit to the lab?

Use the return envelope and prepaid shipping label provided in the kit. Make sure to return via USPS, find your nearest location here.

Can I recycle my Skin + Health Discovery Kit?

Yes! Send back your sample inside the plastic container  it came in and we’ll recycle it for you.

How long will it take to get my results?

From the time you send back your kit it will take approximately 2 weeks to receive your results. This includes 3-4 days for shipping, 7 days to process at our lab, and 2 days for Veracity to review and make recommendations. We’ll let you know when your test has arrived at our lab and is being We’ll send you e-mail to let you know as soon as your results are ready. 

What if my results are abnormal?

All test results are reviewed by a board certified physician and you will be contacted directly in the case of any critical value readings.

Should I share my results with my doctor?

Veracity always advises you to share and discuss your results with your healthcare provider. Our tests provide personalized information and education; they are not intended to diagnose any disease or condition or to substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. You should always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you have regarding your medical care. We also recommend that you consult a physician about any concerns specifically related to your results. 

What if I don’t know the first day of my last period?

If you are menstruating regularly, please do your best to estimate.  A couple of days off will not be a problem. If you are not menstruating regularly you can complete your test on any day. Please note this when you complete your Skin + Health Profile.

Does the test work if I'm on birth control?

Yes, the test definitely works if you’re on hormonal birth control. You’ll be asked if you’re on birth control when you complete your Skin + Health Profile so we can interpret your results accurately.

Is it safe to test while pregnant?

Yes - it is completely safe to test while pregnant or breastfeeding. We interpret your results using the appropriate ranges. However, we recommend you test again when you are not pregnant or breastfeeding as hormones may have changed significantly. 

Why do you test saliva?

Biofactors and hormones can be measured in a variety of ways - saliva, blood, and urine. At Veracity we chose a saliva based hormone test because it is the easiest and least invasive. Hormone levels in saliva are processed hormones - or more bioavailable hormones - so more likely indicate the hormone level affecting your skin. There are many more biofactors you can test using blood, urine and some new exciting technology we are working on that we hope to make available as soon as possible.

Why is it important to test first thing in the morning?

Testing first thing in the morning ensures the accuracy of your results. Hormone levels change over the course of the day, with some hormones such as cortisol and testosterone changing more than others. We interpret your results based on reference ranges for a morning collection.

Do you test genes/DNA?

No, we do not test for genetic information. We analyze your hormones and other biofactors that are scientifically proven to impact your skin and health. Unlike your DNA, the biofactors in your body change over time (just as your skin does) and are indicative of your health at the time of testing. DNA is useful for indicating what you might be susceptible to, but our test measures what matters most to your skin right now.

How do you create my recommendations?

Our recommendations are based on scientific research and data on biomarkers that have proven impact on your skin, in combination with the expert guidance of our medical advisory board. We also take into account the information you provide during the registration process to ensure recommendations are personalized in the most optimal way for you. 

How do Veracity’s algorithms work?

Veracity’s algorithms were developed in concert with our experts and the existing medical research. We focus on identifying the most researched root causes and reference expert knowledge for our recommendations. We are continuously improving our algorithm based on new emerging research and feedback from our community.

What types of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credits cards, Paypal, Amazon pay, and Google Pay.

Where do you ship?

We ship everywhere in the US. 

When will I receive my kit?

After you order your kit, expect to receive it within 5-7 business days. Please note, there may be delays because of COVID.

I want to make changes to my order, what do I do?

What is the refund policy?

We do not accept returns on the Skin + Health Test. We will refund your order only if the order is cancelled before it has shipped.

Unused items such as apparel and accessories must be returned within 14 days of the original delivery date. Returns will be credited back to the original form of payment within a 3-4 day period after received, refund amount will be based on products only, shipping fees will not be included. If you choose to use our return label there will be a fee of $7 dollars which will be deducted from the total refund amount.

Why don’t you offer refunds on the Skin + Health Test?

To ensure health safety and accuracy of results, the contents of our kits must not be contaminated or damaged in any way. Once the kit is opened, our ability to offer a safe and effective testing experience is compromised and the kit cannot be reused. 

How do I return merchandise? (apparel and accessories only)

Can I make an exchange?

Yes– return the item you would like to exchange and place a new order for your replacement item. Our customer care team will arrange free shipping for your exchange item order.

I have a promotion code, gift card or credit, how do I apply it?

Initiate the check out process and enter your code in the box ‘Gift card or discount code’ to apply. 

Can I purchase a Skin + Health Test as a gift?

You may purchase the kit as a gift for anyone 18 years or older.


What happens with my data?

Your data is used solely to provide personalized recommendations and information, and to enhance your experience. Your data is stored securely in your customer account and will never be shared or sold to a third party.  Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and you can request to have your data deleted at any time by submitting a request using our contact form at the top of this page.
