Ghrelin

Known as the “hunger hormone,” ghrelin is produced in the stomach and signals to the body when it’s time to eat by activating feelings of hunger. When it isn’t encouraging your appetite, ghrelin contributes to a host of other functions, like keeping insulin on track, signaling the pituitary gland to release growth hormone, and helping to protect your heart. Ghrelin has been found to be an anti-inflammatory in the skin, protecting against contact dermatitis and psoriasis.
