Heavy metals (including but not limited to lead, arsenic, and mercury) are not deliberately incorporated into beauty product formulas, but they can be found as contaminates often in the color pigments of cosmetics. Quality sourcing is the only way to avoid contamination risk. These metals have been linked to health problems including toxicity and reproductive issues.
